After more than 15 years working in adult social care, I found myself asking the same question time and time again.

Why are good people expected to tackle one of the most demanding roles within health & social care without always being given the support they need to succeed?

I've worked alongside carers, supervisors, Registered Managers and business owners who genuinely wanted to deliver outstanding care. Time after time, I saw that the right support didn't just improve confidence – it improved leadership, strengthened teams and ultimately led to better outcomes for the people relying on those services.

That's why I started A B Training & Development.

My aim isn't simply to deliver training. It's to work alongside care providers, offering practical support, leadership development and quality improvement that makes a genuine difference to everyday practice.

Everything I deliver is rooted in real operational experience, using meaningful discussion, workplace examples and practical solutions that people can apply immediately within their own services.

Because when we invest in people, we don't just increase knowledge. We build confidence, strengthen teams and create better care.

Case Study: Developing a First-Time Registered Manager
One of the most rewarding parts of my career was supporting a newly appointed Registered Manager who had never managed a care service before. Although she had extensive experience in recruitment within the care sector, stepping into the Registered Manager role brought a completely new set of responsibilities.

Together, we focused on building her confidence, understanding the responsibilities of the role, preparing for her CQC Fit Person Interview and developing the leadership skills needed to lead her own service.

With practical coaching, real operational knowledge and tailored support, she successfully passed her Fit Person Interview and went on to lead her service with confidence.

It reinforced something I've always believed:

Great Registered Managers aren't born. They're developed through the right support, encouragement and practical guidance.
"I was very grateful to Anita for the support that I received when preparing for my Fit Persons interview. Anita gave me the confidence to believe in myself and know I could succeed."
